What happens in a yoga class in the times of COVID 19?

Very very excitingly I am going to be able to restart my Teen Yoga Class indoors in person classes on the 7th of September at Lansdown Hall! (to find out more about this class click here)

I know that things starting to return to normal can be scary. I never want any of my students, or students’ families, to feel anxious about coming to my yoga classes, so I’ve spent a long time working out how to stay as safe as possible. Below is what I ask you to do when you join me on the mat and what I promise I will do, so we can all stay safe.

What you can do

  • To ensure we can stick to 2 metres social distancing, there is a maximum of 12 people per class, please book your classes in advance by contacting me, as, in the event of exceeding 12 students, precedence will be given to those that have booked and it would be awful to have to turn anyone away! You are still welcome to join without booking but please know that there is unfortunately a chance you will be turned away. Additionally, by booking a block of 5 classes each class is only £5 instead of £6.

  • Bring your own yoga mat, blanket, eye pillow and anything else you’d like to use (you can rent a mat from me for £2 for a class, and you can buy an eye pillow from me for only £4)

  • You must not come to class if you or anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/)

  • If you develop symptoms within 7 days of coming to a class, you must alert me immediately

  • Make sure you have given me up to date contact details for you (that you actually check/use!)

  • Use the hand sanitizers provided (or your own) on entry and exit

  • Maintain 2 metres social distancing as far as possible

  • Try not to touch hard surfaces, such as door handles and light switches, doors will be propped open

What I will do

  • I will disinfect all surfaces before and after the class

  • I will prop doors open so you don’t need to touch them

  • I will clean and leave any rented mats for a minimum of 3 days (COVID strength disinfectant damages yoga mats)

  • I will maintain 2 metres of social distancing

  • I will provide hand sanitiser

  • I will plan classes so that they won’t include explosive exhales, bringing your hands near your face or turning to face others.

Please note that these may change as guidance changes, to stay up to date follow me on instagram (floga_yoga), become a member of this blog, or subscribe to my mailing list (don’t worry you won’t be spammed!)

If you have any questions or worries do not hesitate to contact me.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the mat soon - email me to secure your spot!
